Another Couple of Days in Todi
(notes from March 2025) Let’s hope people enjoy this blog for the pictures rather than the unimaginative post titles!! Anyway, it was Saturday so we decided to wonder around to a new part of town… Todi is really tiny but somehow there is always an area we haven’t yet been to. Suddenly we stumbled upon… Continue reading

Still in Scenic Todi Italy
(notes from March 2025) We have been here long enough to have accumulated piles of various complicated recycling, and it was finally time to drag everything down to the nearest recycling centers. Naturally, it is needlessly complicated… The entire apparatus is under lock and key (I guess to prevent over-zealous recyclers from overflowing it all?)… Continue reading

Still Freezing in Todi
(notes from March 2025) But unfortunately, Sam developed food poisoning or something and had an incredibly epic barfing episode here which I have neglected to document 😀 Anyway, she has been a nonstop upchucking marvel ever since!! She’s gone about 36 hours without eating much of anything, but she’s somehow still not empty lol But… Continue reading

An Angry Nonna
For a guy trying to do a photo blog, this is pretty embarrassing: I have hardly any pictures to back any of this up! I guess if I’d known how epic this day would be, I’d have the whole thing on video 😀 But by now in Todi we had fallen into a rhythm, we’d… Continue reading

Couple of New Restaurants
(notes from March 2025) There was an intriguing-looking restaurant kind of across the street from Ristorante Scalette called the Osteria Valle. The menu looked good but we could never figure out if and when it was open. The few times we saw people inside, we couldn’t figure out how to enter! We had actually circled… Continue reading

We Visited the Todi Duomo
Then it was back to the flat for our work day. As luck would have it, the stock markets are melting down at the moment so I’m sort of in a “batten down the hatches” mode. And speaking of luck… I completely tested out all my equipment in Rome, everything was all well and good—but… Continue reading

Second Full Day in Todi
(notes from March 2025) By the time we were awake enough to leave the flat, it was time for lunch–remember we’re trying to keep our timezone closer to the US than to Italy, to make Sam’s meetings easier. If we can sleep in to 11:00AM or so, it makes Zoom calls after midnight a lot… Continue reading

First Meals in Todi
(notes from March 2025) We found this corner charcuterie place with a very gregarious proprietor, and Sam talked him into making us a quick tray of samplers for lunch! He was the third generation running this shop, and was pretty proud of that (as he should be!). We had a fun lunch in this dude’s… Continue reading

The Church of San Fortunato
(Notes from March 2025) This enormous pile was built on the highest point in town, and it is literally a three-minute walk from our apartment. Construction began in 1290 or so, on the site of a previous Roman structure, and it was “finished” a couple hundred years later lol Continue reading
