Wacky random ramblings about wacky random trips

First Meals in Todi

(notes from March 2025)

If memory serves, our very first lunch in Todi!

We found this corner charcuterie place with a very gregarious proprietor, and Sam talked him into making us a quick tray of samplers for lunch! He was the third generation running this shop, and was pretty proud of that (as he should be!).

It’s truffle season!
And he’s got pretty much everything else

We had a fun lunch in this dude’s shop, then we asked for a recommendation for dinner. He knew where we should go in a hot second, and called them up. It was a long convo but he eventually got around to making reservations for us. We grew to love that dinner place, but hands down it was the wackiest restaurant of our entire stay: Pane & Vino.

Chugging up our street at night for the very first time!
Heading past the local church
We found it first try!
Inside our dinner restaurant… artichokes are still in season, and Sam is lecturing me on how raw artichoke parts should not ever be in a salad–I believe it!
“Salad” close-up lol
I risked the beef, it is literally soaking in truffles—it’s truffle season here too ya know
Sam’s wild-boar stew–cinghiale–was amazing
Yeah mine was pretty red inside but I just shifted my mind to “warm carpaccio” and enjoyed the hell out of it… still not sure getting used to truffles everywhere is a good habit to form?
Dessert was weird as hell, but we should have expected that haha
I don’t even know what mine was lol

And that was our first day in Todi: lunch at the charcuterie was amazing, then dinner at the confusing Pane & Vino was an absolute hoot: the first of many laughs there haha what a great start to our month here!
