Wacky random ramblings about wacky random trips

Another Transition

We were a bit in limbo, but hurrah Sam has found us an AirBnB to last our entire time in Napoli! Before that, we have one more night on the familiar east side, still at our comfortable Hotel San Pietro.

My photos are a bit scrambled somehow, so the following will be a bit random, but mostly of food as usual 😀

Sam in her white blouse!
Dang, I found this place too late
Taking Brown out for a walk

Time passes… we ask the San Pietro front desk guys for a dinner idea, preferable seafood. They came through in a big way, perhaps bigger than Sam would have liked haha but they pointed us to a terrific place… the GPS took us on a very sketchy route though, sometimes the quickest way isn’t always the best?

Some very dark and lonely streets
Yes, fish was to be had!!
And insane live crab
One of the scary streets back

We survived the walk and crashed again at our hotel… tomorrow night we’d be at the new digs! In the morning, we said goodbye to our ole hotel and took one last look around the local area.

Random church, I dubbed it the Church of Spock (check out that dude’s hand)
This church—not even on the map!!!—got nailed pretty hard in WWII but you can still see signs here and there of what it must once have looked like
Apparently this is a view onto the original floors from the 1300s, the current modern floors are early 1600s—how gauche!
This beat-up old place is still a beauty
Greek ruins from around 400BC, so approx contemporary with the Parthenon
These small alleyways are everywhere, and of course the Italians still race huge trucks down them lol
Somehow we found this great restaurant again, only now we are seated inside! The waitress at the back has a crazy wine-stick she uses to retrieve a bottle from the top shelf
Plus a grappa!!!

And goodbye Hotel San Pietro, and goodbye to all the loud noisy grungy yet adorable east side, we’re headed off to the other end of Napoli, supposedly clean easy & calm?
