Wacky random ramblings about wacky random trips

Our Final AirBnB of the Trip

We are just a bit tired of wandering around, so Sam decided we should splurge a bit at the end of the trip and get a great apartment for our final two weeks in Napoli–I did not argue one bit!

That’s us at the red arrow on the lower left… So close to the coast, so close to downtown and everything, plus amazing views!
Mt Vesuvius as seen on our daily walk down into town

So like everything, there are pluses & minuses… the pros of this place are amazing views and lots of space. Turns out our airbnb has neither AC nor heating! So you just vibe with the easy southern Mediterranean climate: you get cold, grab a blanket—get hot, toss off the blanket! But we totally misjudged the location… As you can tell from the map, we’re not precisely “remote,” there are big condos & apartments everywhere around us, but yeah, we’re remote. Our first hike to a lunch restaurant took about an hour… our hike to the Castel Nuevo more like two! But after a couple of days we found a nice cafe in a new direction, and even better a taxi stand!! The Napoli Metro is very, um, sparse… no stops anywhere near us. So any way about it, we’re going to be getting our steps in!!

Oh yeah, the wee-fee, try typing this into every device 😀
Views are simply insane
Recycling is as thorough as ever

We had no idea what to do for our first evening here, so we hiked down randomly and found dinner… it’s forty-five minutes to get to anything

Very very nice!!
