When we planned this trip, Sam was working for about twenty hours a week–easy! But by the time we got here, it was more like fifty, and her schedule typically dragged far into the night.
Tonight we needed dinner, but she couldn’t get away to a restaurant and we were out of food at the flat, so it was decided I should brave the frigid night to bring dinner in. And what would be better than hot Italian pizza??
In mid-March it is really this dark and lonely in TodiI was so happy to see that Ristorante Cavour was open–ya never know hereI was even happier that they recognized me!! Who knew that crazy Americans would stand out here so obviously 😀 So I placed my order for a pizza to go, and they sat me down at the bar and gave me all this stuff while I waited!I do really love this place… did I mention it’s warm?
Finally got my (hot!) pizza and walked it all the way back to the flat, and of course forgot to take any pix but rest assured it was very delicious and somehow still hot by the time I arrived back.
Sam could get away for lunch the next day tho, and we had food 😀
FoodOMG anyone recognize this crazy car from Sicily???? It’s been following us!Sun is starting to setFor dinner we found a new place. It was always closed when we passed it before, but tonight it was surprisingly open so we went for it. Sam looks nice and warm??Here’s the menu, hand-written on a bag 😀Food was very good, I have to admit, but the entire experience was mind-numbingly slow!!! The center pic is my appetizer: tongue carpaccio, loved itI sneaked a pic into the kitchen…. like I said, it was good, but it was literally so slow that we never returnedMeanwhile, back in the pad….Sam huddled over her (not warm) work area, it’s prolly past midnight by nowThe next dayNot really sure what a soft lunch is… is it like soft porn where you never get to the good stuff??Huge moment of triumph: I successfully dealt with the trash again!!Back to the crazy steak place with the excellent dessertsWe narrowly avoided a gruesome deathHaving a mid-afternoon beer in the cafe where I keep running into Nonna 😀
