(notes from March 2025)
We rented a place for the entire month of March in a pretty prime location (albeit in a very small out-of-the-way town haha). Our flat was tiny (maybe 700 square feet give or take?), but it had everything you could ask: the two of us successfully worked here for a full month without killing each other!
Outlets all over the place, everything worked, when you closed all the windows it was absolutely dark inside, internet was super-fast, no hiccups whatsoever.
In March though, it was cold… the floor was bone-chillingly cold. This building is made all out of stone, perhaps 500 years old, so ambient temperature is your enemy. You can set the thermostat to 21 or whatever, and the air will get up there, but your feet resting on the stone floor will just suck the heat right out of you, it’s like living in Lambeau Field.
So we learned to wear both socks and shoes indoors always, and maybe have some extra grappas now and again 😀
Everybody always asks, so how much was all that? We got the whole month for about $3000, tax title & license (well, not restaurants etc haha). But for $3K you can have a month in this magical place, it’s a bargain if you ask me.
