I can’t quite remember where this was, possibly lunch in Nara? Anyway, those are kick-ass rice makers in the background—who knew the Japanese would know about good rice makers?!?If you want one of these, I can tell you where to get one!!Flight of beers somewhere… my notes said “flight of beers” so there you are
We had read about some very dedicated Osaka chefs travelling to Italy to learn their cuisine and so we headed out to find some Italian food for a change… easier said than done.
Along the way I started to notice the amusing Osaka street lights
Long story short, we never did find Italian in the middle of freaking Osaka lol and after a while we were despairing of finding any dinner places open whatsoever but we were finally allowed into a Chinese restaurant… it was actually pretty good!
Chinese in Japan! Lucky a fight didn’t break out I suppose
We ordered Peking Duck (well it’s a Chinese place, right?) but it was truly mystifying… it arrived as a floppy tortilla, plus a styrofoam chip, some weeds, with no recognizable duck to be found anywhere
Start of Peking Duck!End of Peking Duck!Maybe they felt pity on us, because they served us this dish next, which was amazing—whatever it was lolAnd of course tea to finishThen is was back home to the Cross Hotel…… where we watched stupid Japanese TV 😀
