A New Day in Paris

Another fab breakfast from the buffet… sick coffee, grapefruit juice (pomple-moose or something like that haha), a week’s worth of fat & cholesterol, and of course a cat-butt pastry
The buffet included a tray of entire avocados… never seen that before but then we saw someone grab one and eat the whole thing
Beautiful clear morning, out on the street
Inner courtyard of the Louvre—it is nearly always completely empty, and I have no idea why… the outside of the Louvre is as authentically historic and beautiful as anywhere else in the world, we have always loved wandering here and soaking up the atmosphere, usually alone
Apparently the Parisian sidewalks used to be a lot fancier??
Many moons ago—before kids even!!—we had some pressing business here: the duck! 😂 Is it worth it? I dunno… it’s kind of a check-list item IMHO, I don’t think either of us desire a return visit, although there was nothing wrong with the first time… don’t get me wrong, it was very nice, but once is enough (at least for us)
Notre Dame still…. sheesh
But suddenly… lunch!!!
The wine list was great! If you see one you like, better hurry!

The wine was great, and quite drinkable 😀

Dessert? Ooooo baby
All throughout the meal I had been eyeing these giant bottle… surely they were simply decorative, and yet I wasn’t sure
Turns out they weren’t decorative, they were kick-ass!! I had one of the best armagnacs ever… 1989, quite ancient lol
Serving one was quite a performance! Check out the giant catheter
It was just so good!!!

Then back to a random church tour
Can’t even remember which church this was… somewhere on the Right Bank, and in any case so historic and magnificent… and deserted 🙁
Haven’t encountered this before
