We only just arrived this afternoon from Todi, but it’s dinnertime so we head out. Still desperate for something different, we googled “Indian near me” and found a pretty legit place. So legit in fact that they don’t ask you your preferred spice level, you will just eat it as it is served to you!

A very sweaty experience, which was kind of nice after freezing for an entire month lolTrajan’s Column, erected (!!) around 100AD… the column in the Place Vendome in Paris is modeled after thisAfter Indian, we wandered around in the dark a bit before heading to bed… just can’t get over the views of the Wedding Cake lol otherwise known as the Monumento a Vittorio Emanuele II (apparently also known as the Altare della Patria)So you see the huge cupola of the cathedral almost in the center of the pic? Look to the right a bit and you will see a colorful lit rooftop behind some ancient columns–that’s our hotel, pretty sick location!You just can’t take a bad shot hereMorning!!! The tourons are all arrivingIf it’s like this at the end of March, I hate to imagine actual prime tourist seasonThere were literally five people in that red car, no joke… Mr Bean wasn’t one of them unfortunately. Look at how that motorcycle dwarfs it!!!Poppies are blooming everywhere, you can feel that spring might finally be on its wayWisteria in full bloom!!Lunch was in a very stylish placeThese oyster descriptions are hilarious 😂😂😂But a teensy-tiny charcuterie board 😀All we could do lol look at Sam’s face!!And then the 1.4 kilo sea bream shows up of courseI totally wimped out and got another Umbria wine, they just can’t be beat!!!Desserts were amazing!!!Typical Rome street in this areaWarmest we’d been in many long weeks!We were aiming for this cathedral, looks pretty nondescript from the outside (plus I’d never even heard of it)Wow what a place!! (Note the two Adidas people at the bottom of the pic 😂)Look at the floor, that’s 100% stone inlay, I literally can’t imagine the effort involved. I thought that in church you were supposed to have your attention drawn upward rather than downward??Meanwhile, just outside the cathedral…Walking back slowly to the hotelHah wow a blast from the past!!!No idea what this is, just one of the zillions of random Roman monuments, it’s probably somebody’s garage or somethingAnd we made it back!
Sam’s facial expressions are fun to look at throughout these pics – do I see a slightly red face (half of it anyway) while eating the Indian?
I love the oyster descriptions……….especially the one with a crunchy taste 😂. Those buildings are amazing.
