This is the historic Duomo of CataniaThe entire historic center of Catania is definitely worth experiencing!The Duomo is certainly in imposing structure, check out those doors!
While the architecture is still monumental and grand, this place has suffered through the years… haven’t looked up the history yet but our guess is that was heavily bombed during WWII and restoration suffered from lack of money and lack of artisans as well probably. — Edit: turns out it wasn’t lol but a lot of it is recent, rebuilt numerous times after various earthquakes, sinnings, and other blasphemies.
