Long Travel Day to Koyasan

We are leaving Osaka, so time to say good-bye to the bathroom fixtures of mystery.

Note that the toilet controls are so confusing they had to call out which button you use to actually flush the crazy device!

Anyway, today is the day we travel all the way to Koyasan, where we will be staying the night in an actual working austere Buddhist monk-urary or whatever they’re called.

But first, we must prove ourselves worthy by passing the Train Test!

Looks pretty straight-forward!
I get a kick out of the warning labels
No idea what this was about lol
The pretty Japanese countryside
Next up is the Cable Car Test!
It’s just crazy steep, I guess that’s why they need cables 😀
At the top we saw the first of many communal umbrella buckets—if you need one, grab one
And finally, the Figure Out Which Bus To Take Test 😀
The crazily-winding road was actually a little scary
The little town of Koyasan is quite charming
Figuring out where the heck we’re supposed to go
Our monk-pad is back in there somewhere!
