Like a lot of cities in southern Europe, Catania could do with a high-pressure wash: everybody smokes, all the cars & scooters are constantly billowing smoke, and nearly every available surface has graffiti sprayed all over it. However, like Athens, Catania somehow manages to retain a certain charm of its own, beneath all the grime.
But back to our narrative: we both made it here on time somehow, but can the boys possibly be as fortunate?
Spoiler alert: they made it!!And as luck would have it, it’s time for dinner!!!Sam had twelve or thirteen years to enjoy being taller than the boys….The restaurant on the left is where we had hoped to grab dinnerYup this is the placeGreat pic!!! You can see the three of them in the center, begging & pleading to get us in… once again, Sam’s Italian made the differenceWe began with the charcuterie board–if memory serves, this was the “medium” sized one lolEverything was amazingAnd pizzas were had of courseAnd an excellent white! And a whacked-out dessert of some sortWhat a great first day in Sicily!!
